• What is Brytr and why is Sun Valley Solar promoting it?

  Brytr is a free, secure platform that lets you finally monetize Solar Renewable Energy Credits (RECs)—something homeowners haven't been able to do before. Sun Valley Solar is proud to partner with Brytr to offer this exclusive benefit to our customers, helping you get more value from your solar system.

• What’s the catch?

  There isn't one. At Sun Valley Solar, we're always looking for ways to help you get the most out of your solar investment — and Brytr is another big step in that direction.

• How does Brytr work?

  1. Sign up for free with just a few minutes of setup.
  2. Connect your inverter to the Brytr platform. (You must have an inverter with active monitoring enabled.)
  3. Brytr tracks your energy production and automatically creates one REC for every megawatt-hour (MWh) you generate.
  4. When your RECs accumulate, you can redeem them for cash, gift cards, or other rewards.

• What exactly is a Solar Renewable Energy Credit (REC)?

  A single REC represents the environmental value of 1 MWh of clean solar energy you produce. Think of it as a certificate or digital token that proves your solar system generated clean energy—it’s not just electricity, it’s an asset you can sell.
  

• How many RECs can my home produce in a year?

  On average, a residential solar system produces 5 to 10 RECs per year, which translates to approximately $75 to $250 in potential earnings. Larger systems may generate even more.

• Who qualifies for this?

  As long as you own or are financing an operational solar energy system, you're eligible to participate. Leased systems are not eligible at this time.
  
  To qualify, your inverter must have active online monitoring enabled and user login credentials that allow it to connect to Brytr’s platform. Older inverters without monitoring capabilities do not qualify. 

• Is Brytr truly free and legitimate?

  Absolutely. There are no fees or hidden charges to join. You can cancel anytime, and many of our own employees already use and trust the platform. We stand behind Brytr because we know it’s a secure and legitimate way to unlock extra value from your solar investment. 

• How does Sun Valley Solar ensure this is secure and trustworthy?

  We vetted Brytr thoroughly before bringing it to our customers. The platform is transparent—it deducts a modest 20% commission only upon successful sale of your RECs, and all the earnings you see are shown after that deduction. 

• How do I redeem my RECs?

  Once your energy system is connected, you'll see a live log of your generated RECs - updates daily. Once you've earned at least $5 in net rewards, you can use the Redeem Now button to exchange your RECs for cash or gift cards. Currently, redemptions are limited to one per 24-hour period, and cannot exceed $100 per redemption.

• What kind of rewards can I get?

  You’ll have access to an online rewards catalog featuring dozens of well-known brands. You can choose to redeem your RECs for cash or gift cards—whatever fits your preferences.

• Who is behind Brytr?

  Brytr is a clean energy tech startup based in Atlanta, incubated by CarbonEnfo. They specialize in turning clean energy data into secure, blockchain-driven solutions.

• Will selling my SRECs through Brytr affect my APS or SRP energy credits?

  No. Selling your Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) through Brytr does not impact the bill credits you earn from your utility for excess solar production. These are two completely separate programs.

  • Utility credits (often called net-billing or export credits) come from the electricity your system sends to the grid.
  • SRECs represent the environmental value of that clean energy—essentially proof that your power was renewable.

  You can continue earning export credits from APS or SRP exactly as before while also selling your SRECs through Brytr. The only limitation is that once your SRECs are sold, the environmental claim transfers to the buyer, meaning they—not you—can claim the “green” attribute of that power.
