Our Easy Solar Process

A Personalized Solar Experience. How it Works!

Solar Starts With You

Solar energy is an effective way for homeowners to reduce their carbon footprint and save money on energy bills. With technological advances, solar panels are becoming more efficient and cost-effective. But before you can harness the sun's power, you must navigate the residential solar installation process.

At Sun Valley Solar, we've helped thousands of homeowners in Arizona navigate their journey into clean and affordable solar energy. We understand that going solar is a big investment, not just with your money but also your time.

Your Home Environment

When we usually think of solar, we think of the outdoor environment, but the real question is the interior environment. How are you consuming energy in your home ecosystem? After all, someone else living in your same house would have a different energy profile. Is your usage conducive to a solar panel system? Sun Valley Solar Solutions will help you answer these questions and develop a custom solar solution that saves you money.

Our Proven Process

We start every installation with an assessment of your specific energy needs. This includes a detailed analysis of your home, its location, and your daily usage. We then design a personal energy system around those needs utilizing one or a selection of leading technologies, including solar, batteries, demand managers, and other smart energy management devices. We don't believe in a cookie-cutter solution, so we never offer one. All Sun Valley Solar systems are fully custom-made to meet your goals.

We Do Everything In-House

Our Thorough Solar Installation Journey

The first step in the solar installation process is the consultation. During the consultation, you'll meet with one of our experienced solar integrators, who will evaluate your home and energy needs. Your solar consultant will ask questions about your energy usage, analyze your past utility bills, evaluate your roof's suitability for solar panels, and answer any questions you have about solar energy. After the consultation, the next step is design. We do a preliminary design that addresses your solar energy goals and then provide you with a no-obligation estimate and initial ROI calculation. If you decide to move forward, we'll conduct an on-site inspection of your roof to verify our preliminary design and make any final changes to the system configuration.

Along the way, our team will help you explore various financing options and provide details about solar incentives available in your area that can help you offset as much as 30% of the purchase price. Once financing is secure, we will schedule your installation. This can take weeks to months, depending on the time of year and workload...

Your electric utility will make the final connection to the grid. Depending on the time of year and workload, this can occur a few days or weeks after your system is installed. Overall, the residential solar installation process can seem daunting, but with the right team and information, it can be a seamless and rewarding experience. At Sun Valley Solar, we're committed to helping homeowners make the switch to solar energy and enjoy the many benefits that come with it.

Quality

There are only a handful of NABCEP-certified solar installers in Phoenix, and we have one of them. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners certification process is rigorous and requires extensive study, technical acumen, and a commitment to ongoing education.

How Solar Works

Turning Arizona's most abundant natural resource into savings is easier than you think, and we have it down to a science. We can offset all or a percentage of your electrical consumption with clean and sustainable solar energy.

1. Solar panels convert sunlight into direct current energy. When sunlight photons hit the silicon layer on the surface of a solar panel, they disrupt electrons, knocking them off the silicon atoms. The energy of electrons leaving the silicon atoms creates an electric current - specifically a direct current, or DC. The wiring in solar panels captures this current and travels into the inverter.

2. An inverter converts the DC electricity. Your home can't use DC energy, so an inverter converts that energy from the solar panel into alternating current, or AC electricity, that can be used for your home.

3. Free solar energy is sent to your home from your inverter. This can power everything from your TV and air conditioning units to your refrigerator and washer. The energy produced from your solar panels is the same as any other electricity you use for your home.

4. A special solar meter monitors energy used and energy produced. Depending on your local utility, any solar energy not consumed by your home can be returned to the grid at an export rate. You'll draw energy from the grid if you need more solar energy to cover your home's electricity needs throughout the day. The solar meter is what tracks all of this.
