30% Solar Tax Credit Ends December 31, 2025
When you install solar panels or a battery on your home in 2025, you can still claim a dollar-for-dollar tax credit equal to 30% of the total project cost. But the newly signed 2025 budget—nicknamed the "One Big Beautiful Bill"—eliminates this incentive for any residential system placed in service on or after January 1, 2026. There is no step-down or grace period. Once 2026 arrives, this incentive will be gone. Furthermore, your system must be fully installed, inspected, and granted a Utility Permission-to-Operate (PTO) in 2025 to qualify. Waiting is no longer an option.

Why You Need to Act Now!
4–6-month project timelines
Permitting, utility applications, equipment procurement and installation routinely take several months in Arizona. A late-season contract risks sliding into 2026—and losing the credit entirely.
Surging demand & supply constraints
Installers, utilities and permitting offices are already reporting a flood of applications as homeowners race the clock. Schedules (and equipment inventories) will tighten every week.
Price protection
Signing a contract today locks your spot on the 2025 installation calendar and shields you from potential equipment price hikes driven by new tariffs and high demand. The Window for 2025 applications may close as early as September, 2025.
Stand-Alone Battery — Last Chance for 30% Savings
Did you know that home batteries can be used without solar panels and still provide significant value? In Arizona, standalone battery storage is becoming a smart choice for reducing energy costs and ensuring reliable backup power.
Stand-alone batteries also qualify for the 30% Investment Tax Credit (ITC), but this incentive expires on December 31, 2025. Installations must be fully permitted, installed, and activated before the deadline, so every week you wait shrinks the cushion against supply-chain delays and crowded utility queues.

$1,000 Arizona Solar Tax Credit
At the state level in Arizona, there is no sales tax charged, and you can receive a state income tax credit of up to $1,000 for a solar purchase. Like the federal ITC, to qualify for the Arizona solar tax incentive, your system must be installed and commissioned before the end of the tax year you wish to file for.
